Hudson Education Association (HEA)

The HEA is you, the professional employees of the Hudson Public School System.  The Hudson Education Association is the representative organization for the professional staff of the Hudson Public Schools, including teachers, librarians, counselors, school psychologists and nurses.

The HEA is governed by the HEA Executive Board and the HEA by-laws.  The Executive Board consists of elected officers and building representatives, and chairpersons of standing committees, each of whom has one vote.  Elections for officer positions are held annually, and the term of office is from July 1 to  the last day of June .  All members of the HEA are eligible to serve in these positions.

Building Representatives
In each school, faculty members will elect one colleague for every ten HEA members to serve as a building representative.  Building Reps serve as liaisons between HEA leadership and the membership in his/her building.

Executive Board
The Executive Board (E-Board) consists of elected officers and building representatives, chairpersons of standing committees, and the chairperson of the Negotiations Team.  This body is responsible for the governance of the Association.  It meets the first Wednesday of every month from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.  During this time, suggestions and concerns of the membership are presented and discussed.  Meetings are held at Hudson High School, and all HEA members are welcome to attend.

Labor Management
The HEA meets with the Superintendent monthly throughout the school year and during the summer.  The President, Vice President, our MTA representative and relevant parties (teachers, administrators) discuss a variety of issues at these meetings.  If you have any concerns or questions that you would like to be brought to the Superintendent's attention you can contact your head building representative.
