JUNE MURRAY
PRESIDENT OF THE HEA
June 5, 2008

To Members of the Executive Board of the Hudson Education Association:

We have accomplished much during the tenure of my presidency: secured retiree health care for the foreseeable future, recruited new members to  the Executive Board, established regular Building Based Labor Management Meetings, hosted Association sponsored Welcome Back events throughout the district, launched a website hudson.massteacher.org, adopted new health care options, , and negotiated a new 3 year collective bargaining agreement.

The job has not been easy, it has stretched me in ways the classroom never has and I have learned much about myself in the process.  It has been an honor representing the teachers of the district and a pleasure working with many of you.

On May 12th I was granted a 3 month leave of absence from the Hudson Public Schools.  This leave of absence will require me to relinquish my responsibilities as Association President.  I am leaving to participate in the NEA Ethnic Minority and Women's UniServ Internship program.  It is my hope that the work we have started will continue in my absence.

Sincerely,
June J. Murray
